Biography
Dr. Jane S. Wrinch
Dr. Wrinch graduated in 1992, obtaining her DMD degree from the faculty of dentistry at the University of British Columbia. After working a short time in northern British Columbia, she was selected to complete a multi-disciplinary hospital residency at the Montreal General Hospital through McGill University. This residency provided her with advanced training in all the specialties of dentistry including oral surgery, anesthesia, and treatment of medically compromised patients. Dr. Wrinch then moved to Ottawa, working first as an associate dentist while holding staff positions at the Ottawa Civic and Queensway Carleton Hospitals. While there, she chaired the startup of a hospital based geriatric specialty clinic and owned her own practice.
Dr. Wrinch is a member of the Victoria and District Dental Society, the BC Dental Association, the College of Dental Surgeons of BC, the Saanich RV Tucker Gold Study Club and the Canadian Dental Association. Dr. Wrinch also is a member of the Advanced Orthodontics Study Club at UBC. She is on staff at the Victoria General and Royal Jubilee Hospitals. In January 2000, Dr. Wrinch opened her private practice in the Royal Oak Shopping Centre. She enjoys the challenge of providing quality family dentistry in a comfortable and friendly environment.
Dr. Wrinch is an avid gardener. She and her husband James are heavily involved with the raising of their six children. They all enjoy travelling, hiking, small scale farming, and numerous other outdoor activities.
Dr. Elizabeth Watt
Dr. Elizabeth Watt graduated from the University of Victoria, receiving her Bachelor of Science (BSc Marine Biology) degree in 2000, and her DMD degree from the University of British Columbia in 2006. She was the recipient of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Prize, Fine Arts Dental Laboratories Ltd Prize in Prosthodontics, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Dental Student Award (2006), and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Award.
Following graduation, Dr. Watt was selected to complete a General Practice Residency through the University of British Columbia. In addition to gaining valuable skills in treating medically and mentally compromised patients, she did a number of work placements in the Queen Charlotte Islands, Prince George, the downtown East side of Vancouver, Cool Aid Dental Clinic in Victoria, and the Yukon (Whitehorse).
Dr. Watt is a member of the Victoria and District Dental Society, the BC Dental Association, the College of Dental Surgeons of BC, the Canadian Dental Association, the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Honorary Dental Society, and the Saanich RV Tucker Gold Study Club. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry in private practice, including paediatrics and surgery. She is committed to furthering her knowledge and regularly attends continuing education seminars in various topics of interest.
Dr. Watt and her husband Chris have three children, Coady, Sarah and Evelyn. They enjoy outdoor activities of all sorts, including sailing, beachcombing, skiing, and exploring this beautiful province of ours.
Pam (Receptionist)
You can always count on Pam to give you a smile at our front reception. After graduating from the Vancouver Island University (Malaspina) certified dental assisting program in 2001, Pam worked a few years as a certified dental assistant before moving to reception. Now we benefit from her several years of experience working in dental administration. Our bilingual (English and Punjabi) team member commutes daily from Duncan - talk about commitment. Her high level of organizational skills (and giggles) are a huge asset to the practice. In her spare time, Pam loves to work out, shop and travel.
Chelsea (Certified Dental Assistant)
Chelsea ia a 2011 graduate of the Camosun College certified dental assisting program. She assists with Dr. Wrinch and Dr. Watt from Monday to Friday. A native of Comox and Victoria, Chelsea loves travelling, spending time with her dog Bailey, and stamp collecting. Her calm and warm demeanor is most appreciated by our patients as well as our dental team.
Tami (Certified Dental Assistant)
Tami assists on Saturdays with Dr. Watt, as well as working some Fridays. We are sure that you will enjoy her lively manner and infectious zest for life. Originally from Vancouver, Tami graduated from the Camosun College certified dental assisting program in 2011. She was on the Dean's List and received the CDABC Award of Excellence. Outside of the dental office, Tami enjoys running, hiking, biking, swimming, and going to movies with her boyfriend and friends. Tami was accepted into the dental hygiene program at Camosun College and started her program in September 2012. Way to go, Tami!
Sarah P. (Certified Dental Assistant)
Sarah is a 2009 graduate of the Camosun College certified dental assisting program, where she received the 2009 CDABC Student Award of Excellence. She is currently at Camosun College in the final year of the dental hygiene program but periodically works for us when she can afford the time. Sarah loves her cats, running and volleyball. Sarah is just finishing up her second year in the dental hygiene program at Camosun College.
Janet (Registered Dental Hygienist)
Janet is a 1991 graduate of the Vancouver Community College dental hygiene program in Vancouver. With over 18 years of hygiene experience and some prior years of dental assisting, we are lucky to have such a gentle and qualified dental team member. Her attention to detail and enthusiasm to maintain high and current standards in the profession of periodontics are truly appreciated by her patients and dental team. Janet's practice in our office allows her to be able to spend valuable time with her children, at school and with their many activities. Janet and her husband Gavin have two daughters, Celine and Katie.
Kelly (Registered Dental Hygienist)
Kelly graduated from Camosun College in 2008 and brings to the office a fresh attitude and a passion for providing oral health care and education. After many years working in retail, she understands the importance of good customer care. Kelly prides herself in staying current with the latest research in preventative oral health care. Her professionalism and commitment is noticeably reflected in her positive attitude and delivery of care. Kelly is bilingual in both English and Vietnamese and enjoys travelling and spending time with her family, friends and dog Lua.
Edita (Registered Dental Hygienist)
Our European transplant, Edita moved from Kosovo in 1999. She is a 2008 graduate from the Camosun College Dental Hygiene program. Prior to her entry into hygiene, she worked as a dental lab technician. Edita's attention to detail and desire to deliver the best care to her patients makes her a valuable member of our dental team. In her spare time, Edita likes to play and watch tennis. She and her husband have one daughter, Iman, and a son, Dein.
Laura (Receptionist)
Our newest member to the team, Laura comes from a strong background in paediatric dentistry. Her efficiency and knowledge are much appreciated, as is her practical approach to problem-solving . Laura graduated from the CDI College in 2006, as a certified dental assistant. At home, Laura is a busy mom caring two small children and a two dogs.
